Short Biography
Francesco received the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in information technology engineering from Politecnico di Milano, GPA 4.0. He has been a postdoc research assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and collaborated in leading positions with major industrial companies in the software and digitalization sectors. He has been recipient of several awards for his professional activity including the “Ettore Lewis” award, the “Dimitris Chorafas” award, the “Journal of Process Control” award, the “Danieli Ethics” award. In 2022 he completed the Executive MBA at Università di Udine, GPA 4.0. He is or has been Associated Editor for IFAC Control Engineering Practice and IEEE Transaction on Control Systems Technology, he is IFAC TC 6.2 vice chair. Francesco is involved in several EU funded research projects in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano.
Francesco experience is in the application of software technologies (planning systems, artificial intelligence, predictive technologies, etc.) in several industrial sectors like metal industry, aeronautics, and pharma sectors. He is author or co-author of about 50 publications in international journals and conferences concerning software, control systems, machine learning and managerial methodologies.
